Weekend comes and markets just start to pop-up. In almost every city and town there are small and large fairs that sell a bit of everything. In Portugal, it was last year that the Boot Fair began to appear.
The concept isn’t new. This is a very popular market model in the UK, and consists on a space where private sellers park their car, open the trunk and sell second-hand products.
And we see everything: from books and old toys, to clothes, various utensils, antiques, etc., etc. All at reduced prices. The idea is to get ride of old things you have hanging around your garage or storage room.
Well, if you think about it, it’s the same as a garage sale, a very commonly option in the United States, but here the sale takes place in a car park.

I leave you with some images caught in the market held this weekend in Ericeira. But check with town councils or local tourist offices to find out if there’s any closer to you.
What about you? Have you ever been to a Boot Fair? What do you think about the concept? Tell me all about it in the comment box below.
