As a Portuguese, I have always found that my country is one of the best travel destinations in the world! We have everything! Good weather, a rich historical and cultural heritage and the people… the Portuguese are the kindest and most helpful people there is! All of this allied to a friendly economy (at least for those who are visiting) makes this little seaside corner a paradise for any tourist.

So in the last World Travel Awards, my Portugal was voted the World’s Leading Destination 2017!

This award joined the European Best Destination title won last month and, as if that were not enough, Lisbon was also considered the Best Citybreak in the World; Madeira as Best Insular Destination; and the Sintra-Monte da Lua Parks have as the Best Example of Heritage Recovery.

With such a prize it’s no surprise that Portugal will undoubtedly be one of the destinations of election for 2018.
