
The 36th edition of the BTL – Better Tourism Lisbon Travel Market ended on 2 March in Lisbon with around 85,000 visitors, the highest attendance since the event was created. The tourism fair took place over five days at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and brought together destinations, companies and tourism professionals.
According to data released by the organisers, the 2026 edition featured 1,700 exhibitors and 125 international destinations. The event occupied five exhibition halls, covering a total area of approximately 60,000 square metres.
The organisation also highlighted the strong commercial activity during the fair. More than 300 direct sales points operated throughout the event, where travel operators, agencies and destinations presented special travel offers and promotional campaigns to visitors.
International participation continues to grow in BTL
Data from the organisers indicate that the international section of the fair expanded this year. Compared with previous editions, the international area grew by about 20%.
Growth was also reported in several tourism industry segments represented at the event. The hospitality sector increased by 30%, while tourism services grew by 15% and distribution by 10%, according to figures released by the organisers.
Tourism industry gathering in Lisbon
BTL is one of the main tourism trade fairs held in Portugal. Each year, it brings together public institutions, tourism businesses, destinations, and industry professionals, while also opening its doors to the general public interested in planning travel.
The next edition is scheduled to take place again at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa from 3 to 7 March 2027.
