When I visited Rome last year, I was surprised by how many tourists the city has, and, of course, with access to the main monuments. At that time, perhaps out of ignorance on my part, I didn’t care much about looking around for more information about buying tickets to the capital’s tourist attractions. Result: I lost some precious time at ticket offices and in the entry queues.
I recently learned about Rome City Pass and found it brilliant. The pass has some excellent advantages:
- free access to the Basilica of St. Peter without queuing, with audioguide
- entrance to the Colosseum
- transport from and to Ciampino or Fiumicino airport
- free tourist bus Hop-On Hop-Off
- discounts on tours and other monuments in the city, including the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel
